L'art du cuisinier, A. Beauvilliers (2 vol.)
Beauvillers may have been the first restaurateur in Paris. He had a place in the Palais Royale, near where the Grand Vefour is today. This is an excellent protrayal of cuisine in the early 19th century, before Carême did much to standardize French Cooking. Copyright 1816 (1980 reimpression, leather -bound, numbered (138/300), excellent condition (slight wear on corners of cover; volume two has a slight nick, only visible on close inspection)
